Thanks to a 2014 TGIF Grant, the Student Environmental Resource Center at UC Berkeley and Chinook Book have teamed up to create a sustainable living mobile app that is available for FREE to all UC Berkeley students, staff, and faculty. SERC provides resources for students to actualize their visions of a more equitable, socially just, and resilient future, and Chinook Book has long cultivated a network of sustainable local merchants. Together, we provide indispensable tools and deep discounts to make green living easy and affordable.
The app provides resources and discounts: bike maps, events, links sustainability organizations, and over 200 mobile coupons from sustainable local merchants. Our Special Edition app serves SERC's core mission of strengthening the collective effectiveness of the sustainability community.
SERC's TGIF grant will fund 2 student staff who will create campus-focused educational and resource content for the app. It will be a new communication tool for SERC to promote our student community and campus sustainability efforts.
In the meantime, enjoy the 450 free coupons! Some of the many represented businesses you may recognize are Saturn Cafe, Mikes Bikes, Gather, SF Soup Company, the Berkeley Student Food Collective, Smart Alec's, and Urban Ore.
