Project Description: Bridge the communication gap between custodial staff and building inhabitants in order to promote sustainability efforts, increase mutual respect & communication, and improve the morale of both custodians and buildings inhabitants. This project will take place in six buildings: University, Wurster, Kroeber, Cory, Stanley, and Sproul Halls. This project is a continuation of 2010 TGIF Grant Custodial Staff Outreach.

Goals: Meet with building managers and custodial staff of project buildings. Increase and report the use of “green cleaning” products within the buildings. Educate building inhabitants about their custodial staff members through newsletters and postings of staff profiles. Collect qualitative data regarding the newsletters and outreach through building occupancy surveys. Acknowledge and celebrate the sustainable efforts of custodians. Gain green-cleaning credits under Materials & Resources and Indoor Air Quality for LEED EB OM.
