Community: A Garden Project
Project Sponsor: Clark Kerr Campus
TGIF Grant: $1,200
Project Theme: Habitat Restoration
Project Description: On the Clark Kerr campus, there is currently an unused garden space. Transforming this space into a local garden would educate residents about growing organic and sustainable food and give them the opportunity to participate in the process of sustainably cultivating a vegetable garden. The garden would also reduce water use and repurpose the currently unused land. It would also provide residents with an abundance of tasty, local, sustainably-grown vegetables.
Project Goals: To transform the unused garden area into a sustainable community garden that the residents of Clark Kerr can use, both as a recreational space and as an organized garden to grow their own vegetables.
