2019 Application Submission

Project Description: The Food for Thought Library is a program that works to provide textbook access to students in need. Food for Thought is a program that provides seminars for students that help develop life and reflection skills while providing access to resources (such as food and laptops). The Food for Thought Library will allow students in need to have increased textbook access beyond the course reserve system while lowering their environmental impact of textbook use. This program will work within Food for Thought and in tandem with the Basic Needs Committee to create a permanent textbook reuse program for students.

Goals of the Project:

  • Purchase textbooks that are in high demand among the student population
  • Create an equitable system of access of the books with the Basic Needs Committee
  • Development and implement a sustainability plan to keep the library up to date and operational
  • Record the environmental and social impact through reporting data to the TGIF committee
