Project Description

Goals of Project: The FUELSAFE Project (Fuel-load Reduction, Ecological Stewardship, and Fire Education) aims to reduce hazardous fuel loads, improve forest health, and expand experiential learning opportunities for UC Berkeley students at Russell Research Station. Farmworker Justice: Creating Future Researchers to Uplift Farmworker Voices on Climate Change

The primary goal of this project is to expand student participation in farmworker justice research and to provide interested undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage with farmworker communities in the broader Bay Area. ASUC Sustainable Campus Food System Designathon

Project Description

This designathon aims to empower students to share their voices on decisions about the campus food system, because it should be catered to their needs and values. The Pour Out Pepsi campaign pressures the UC Berkeley administration to end the exclusive pouring rights contract with PepsiCo due to its unsustainable and inequitable practices. Solar Powering Cal

Project Description

Solar Powering Cal will ensure student engagement in the campus efforts to install solar on selected campus buildings and will make TGIF a key partner in solar as new reality at UC Berkeley. TGIF will also play a role in the larger regional effort to bring over 100 solar PV installations to public agency sites around the bay area.

Refills Not Landfills

Project Description

Refills not Landfills will collaborate with local beverage sellers to create a stamp card that can be used by customers who bring their own mugs. Each time a customer BYOM's s/he will receive a stamp and work towards a free drink, with a goal of incentivizing customers to "refill" or reuse, not "landfill".
