Alienor Baskevitch is a 5th year Ph.D. student studying microbiology and a 2-year member of the Committee on Student Fees. Alienor's care for the environment and passion for climate advocacy and environmental justice stems from her formative experiences in Payahuunadü (also known as the Owens Valley) and eastern deserts of California. Alienor grew up in Southern California and has lived in Berkeley since beginning her undergraduate degree here in 2014.
Maya Bhandari is a junior majoring in Business Administration and Environmental Economics and Policy. She is passionate about how food systems and agriculture have an impact on the environment. Maya grew up in the city of San Francisco where she gained a love for sustainability while also focusing on how to be fiscally responsible. In Berkeley, she loves dancing, playing basketball, going to concerts at the Greek theater, and trying new restaurants. My headshot is attached below.
Bruce Chamberlain’s career has focused on energy efficiency and leadership in public, private, and non-profit sectors. He is committed to bending the curve of carbon emissions in proven and creative ways. As Campus Energy Manager, Bruce has been involved with strategic planning efforts involving UCOP, Facilities Services, Sustainability, and Capital Projects. Sahana is a second year student majoring in Environmental Economics & Policy and minoring in Data Science & Marine Science. She is passionate about examining the intersections between racial inequity and environmental turmoil. On campus, she is involved in the Berkeley Student Food Collective, SCEC, and the Berkeley Center for Comparative Equality and Anti Discrimination Law. In her free time she enjoys going to concerts, reading, and painting.
Sharon was born and raised in San Diego county, where she began her educational endeavors at her local community college. She is a proud first generation college graduate and daughter of Lao refugees. Her passions lies among working with students, by assisting them to develop, implement and lead innovative sustainability projects and initiatives. Shraddha Navalli Patil joined the UC Berkeley Capital Strategies, Physical and Environmental Planning team in 2018. This is my second year on the TGIF Committee. I have been in the building trades for 40 years and have 30 years working here at Cal. I am currently working with Capital Projects managing construction projects here on Campus. I have always been involved in sustainability and the human impact on this planet from "Green Building" practices to environmental justice issues in our community.
