Project Description

Campus Bike Plan Update

Project Description

Grant funding is requested to 1. create (at minimum) 30 new high-quality still images and up to 10 new video-clips which will showcase the breadth and depth of campus sustainability in action, and 2. synthesize the selected images and footage into one, short finished multimedia piece. Funding will cover media equipment rental costs and the student interns' hours.

Closed-Loop Mechanical Recycling of PLA Filament in UC Berkeley 3D Printing Labs

Project Description

This is an extension of a past TGIF funded project that recycled plastic filament from failed 3D printing projects on campus. This grant would help use this recycling technique to create a completely closed-loop system for recycling 3D printing plastics throughout campus. Money will go towards final materials necessary to complete the project.

Blake Garden Adaptive Restoration Project

Project Description

UC Berkeley’s Landscape Architecture Water Savvy Garden Design class is working on a design/build adaptive restoration project sited within Blake Garden – a design and research laboratory for students, open to the public, and owned and operated by the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning. EcoMovie Nights

Project Description

This grant will fund a monthly environmental documentary series that engages, educates, and inspires the Cal community to get involved with environmental campaigns. Films will be selected based on a monthly theme and followed by theme-centered discussion, facilitated by experts or related student groups.

Reducing BearWALK Wait Times and Fuel Emissions

Project Description

Working with ASUC and the Graduate Assembly, UCPD collaborated to enhance BearWALK on the three free campus Night Safety Services. Since BearWALK is a walking service where UCPD student officers walk in between escort requests, feedback showed that clients wanted a reduced wait time. When BearWALK staffing was low (due to employees being a student first and an employee second), UCPD allowed the use of a patrol vehicle.
