In the midst of one of California’s most severe droughts in history, Berkeley Flow of the ASUC Sustainability Team will convert existing toilets in the Cloyne Student Cooperative into dual-flush toilets via retrofit kits. This project will serve as a first step in a plan to implement dual-flush toilets into Student Cooperatives beyond Cloyne.

The Solar Decathlon 2017 is a two year competition in which 16 collegiate teams will design and build a Net Zero Energy solar home that will be showcased and judged in Denver, CO. Our team, RISE, is currently designing a multi-family living space for the city of Richmond, CA that aims to provide a sustainable and efficient solution for urban infill lots. The Sustainability in the Greek Community team will install water aerators, motion sensor light switches, and LED lighting in order to improve energy efficiency and decrease water consumption.

This project is to revamp the ReUSE store, allowing us to achieve our 4 main goals for next semester: 1) Doubling our charity impact to $3000 and saving at least 1000 pounds of clothing and material waste. 2) Growing our volunteer base and community from 50 to 120 general volunteers. 3) Revitalizing our ReUSE material stations across campus and successfully dispersing materials from storage. 4) Tripling our daily store foot traffic and social media outreach and engagement, specifically on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
